Alliance Group Donates $200,000 To The East Coast Rural Support Trust

To support the rural communities of Gisborne, Hawkes Bay, Tararua, and the Wairarapa.

In response to the devastation caused by Cyclone Gabrielle, Alliance Group today announced a comprehensive support package for the region with a focus on farmers badly impacted on the East Coast of the North Island.

The support package includes:

👉🏼 $200,000 donation to the East Coast Rural Support Trust, to support the rural communities of Gisborne, Hawkes Bay, Tararua, and the Wairarapa.

👉🏼 An Alliance shareholder-supplier stock donation programme for farmers to donate stock (lamb, sheep, cattle, deer) with the proceeds being donated to the East Coast Rural Support Trust.

👉🏼 Access to free counselling services through our employee assistance partner OCP for affected employees, farmer shareholders and their families. This service will be extended over the next 12 months for additional support when needed.

👉🏼 Care packages for Alliance Farmer-shareholders and affected employees to include non-perishables.

“We are ensuring that our North Island plants in Levin and Dannevirke are operating at full capacity to process our farmers livestock during this difficult time. We’re also using our national plant network to provide further capacity as needed,” commented Willie Wiese, CEO.

“Our North Island livestock team keeps in close contact with the East Coast Rural Support Trust and is already on the ground helping our shareholder-farmers with their clean up. They have been joined by other farmers wanting to help.  We will continue to provide support through the recovery to come.

“We’re in this for the long haul and will continue to support our people, farmers and communities as best we can.”
