Flood Recovery underway in the Tararua Region

Groups of volunteers have been participating in flood recovery of farmland around the Kumeroa / Hopelands / Ruawhata / Ballance areas this week.

๐Ÿ“ท A group of volunteers from Alliance, getting stuck in around the Weber area.

๐Ÿ™Œ The RST are so grateful for all the groups that are popping up around our district to help the farmers affected by floods

โค๏ธ We are extremely grateful to Alliance for their generous donation of $200,000 to the East Coast Rural Support Trust. The East Coast covers the Gisborne, Hawkes Bay, Tararua and Wairarapa districts. This will go a long way to helping us to continue to provide support to farmsers. Thank you ๐Ÿ™

๐ŸŸข Three groups of volunteers have been hard at work around the Kumeroa/Hopelands/Ruawhata/Ballance area along the Manawatu River clearing debris off fences, picking up broken fences and wires, chainsaw work and ramming posts. Big thanks to Pete Apthorp for coordinating this. The farmers were very grateful!

๐ŸŸข Volunteers for RST from affected areas will be getting in touch with those who have offered to help soon to coordinate more groups.
