Support for flood-impacted farmers and growers in the Far North

The Ministry for Primary Industries has allocated the Far North District Council $20,000 in the form of a Mayoral Relief Fund to support the needs of businesses in the primary industry affected by the heavy rain and flooding event of 16-19th August 2022.  A portion of the funding is to provide partial reimbursement for the costs of primary sector flood recovery measures.

To apply for reimbursement of expenses, the costs must have been incurred as a consequence of the flooding event and relate to primary sector businesses within the Far North District Council boundaries.  Click here to request a copy of the application form or download a copy from our webiste.  Each application will be assessed on its merits.

The Far North has been allocated $30,000 of adverse events funding in total by the Ministry of Primary Industries to help farmers and growers recover, which includes the delivery of wellbeing support initiatives and events hosted by the Rural Support Trust, along with recovery facilitators and specialist technical advice.
