The Rural Support Trust is offering GoodYarn workshops throughout the region to community groups, organisations and businesses. We are hoping to raise our rural community’s capability and awareness around mental health and wellbeing. So far, the GoodYarn programme has reached over 3,000 people across rural New Zealand, and has received amazing feedback.
One third of attendees have reported that they have been better able to recognize clients who are experiencing different severities of stress, and importantly, that they are able to initiate conversations with them forthwith. This is a direct consequence of attending a GoodYarn Workshop.
With each GoodYarn Workshop attendee trained, we get closer to our goal of creating a culture where all stigma associated with mental health is gone.
