Biosecurity

New Zealand's biosecurity is vital for protecting our environment, economy and human and animal health.
A key part of our response to biosecurity incursions for our pastural sector is the national traceability scheme NAIT operated by OSPRI. If you care for cattle or deer, you have biosecurity and disease management responsibilities. Nearly all farmed cattle and deer must be tagged and registered and any movement of animals on to or off your property must be recorded.
If you need someone to talk to about biosecurity and how to find information to manage this for your business, our facilitators have a wide network of specialists that can assist.
