An Evening with Sir Wayne ‘Buck’ Shelford - Waikato

Event details
Join us for a memorable evening of connection, inspiration, and great food as the Rural Support Trust proudly presents Sir Wayne 'Buck' Shelford - All Black legend, respected leader, and advocate for wellbeing.
This event is dedicated to celebrating the strength and spirit of our rural communities. Farmers, growers, and supporters are invited to come together for a relaxed evening featuring meaningful conversations and the chance to hear from one of New Zealand’s most respected figures.
Thanks to the generous support of our sponsors and recent Rural Support fundraising efforts, a significant portion of the event costs has been covered. However, a modest ticket fee is required to assist with the remaining expenses.
Enjoy a delicious two-course feast prepared by the amazing team at LaValla, set in a warm, welcoming atmosphere. Sir Wayne will share powerful stories from his life on and off the field - speaking to leadership, resilience, and the challenges faced.
Be part of a night of real connection, great food, and down-to-earth inspiration.
Sir Wayne 'Buck' Shelford is a legendary All Black, revered for his uncompromising toughness, inspirational leadership, and deep cultural pride. As captain from 1987 to 1990, he helped shape one of New Zealand's most formidable rugby eras and has since become a passionate advocate for men's health, using his own journey - from rugby icon to cancer survivor - to inspire others.
