The Bay of Plenty Rural Support Trust were the grateful recipients of a new Toyota Land Cruiser 70 sponsored by Pacific Toyota. Rural Support’s work is often in rural regions where roading may be an issue, particularly after adverse weather events. Regional Coordinator Jodie Craig said ‘this vehicle means we can be there for our farmers and growers regardless of road and weather conditions and it helps ensure the safety of our team in remote areas.’
Pacific Toyota Chief Executive Chris Bussenschutt said ‘We’re proud to provide Rural Support with a Toyota Land Cruiser 70, a vehicle renown for its toughness to help them continue their essential work.’
The Trust is immensely grateful to Pacific Toyota for recognising the need and stepping up to support the Trust and our rural communities. Day to day running costs will also be supported by FMG, and Barfoot and Thompson showing how keen local organisations are to support the important work Rural Support are doing. Bay of Plenty Rural Support Chair Miles Mander noted ‘we are seeing organisations stepping up to support us, recognising the role they can play in ensuring rural communities have the support they need not just during the tough times but also in building long-term resilience and connection.’
