Take a break with your rural community

This August and September, Rural Support Waikato is inviting farmers, growers, and rural communities to take a well-earned break with Brunch on Us – a series of relaxed drop-in events taking place across the region.

Running from late August through September 2026, these gatherings are an opportunity to connect with others who understand the unique realities of rural life, enjoy a delicious hot meal and take a moment away from the day-to-day demands of the farm.

"You don't have to register, and there are no speeches or presentations – just a warm welcome, great food and refreshments," says Wanda Leadbeater from Rural Support Waikato. "This is about checking in with each other, sharing stories and updates, and reminding our communities that they're not alone."

Brunch on Us events will be hosted at locations throughout the wider Waikato Trust region, with support from local organisations and community networks. Whether you can spare five minutes or stay for an hour, you're welcome to drop in. It's informal, relaxed, and all about spending time with good people.

These gatherings are more than just brunch. They're a reminder that no one in rural New Zealand has to face life's challenges alone.
