Rural Support recognises many of our farmers across the North and South Islands have been hit by adverse weather events in the last couple of weeks. Our thoughts go out to all farmers and growers impacted by the events
During the response and recovery please ensure you take care of yourself, your family, staff and others on farm. If possible, check in on your neighbours to make sure they are ok. We know many of you may still be without power so prioritise your urgent tasks around human and animal welfare including food and safe drinking water. Do not do anything that puts your safety or others at risk.
When possible collect photos of any damage and contact your insurance company to start the claims process.
If you need support, please phone your local Rural Support on 0800 787 254. As the recovery continues there will be local events to give farmers and growers a chance to get off farm and catch up with friends and neighbours. Please keep an eye on your local Rural Support Facebook page for more details.
