Rural Riders - Alexandra, Central Otago

Event details
Farmers around the country are trading paddocks for pedals with Rural Riders, a weekly bike ride that’s more about being around mates than racking up mileage.
What started as one man and a poster (massive shoutout to Hamish Clausen) has grown into a nationwide movement helping farmers hit pause on the grind, clear their heads, and maybe even work up a bit of a lycra tan.
It’s all about getting outside weekly or monthly, catching up, and reminding yourself there’s life beyond the fenceline.
Rural Riders has 14 locations locked in for the 2025-2026 season.
Rural Riders has proven that something as simple as a bike ride can make a huge difference in the lives of New Zealand’s farming community. Whether you’re looking to join a friendly, supportive group or get some extra miles in, there is a bike seat with your name on it at Rural Riders.
A massive thank you to this seasons National and Local Sponsors.
